BABU ABRAHAM
Chairman
Babu Abraham has been associated with social enterprises for several decades. Along with his professional career as a software and IT consultant, he has been actively involved with a number of NGOs and companies in the social sector. He has now retired from his full time job, but is actively involved as Adviser/ Consultant to IT companies, as a teacher cum coach in leadership development and as a Board member of several companies and NGOs. Professionally, he has been in the field of IT industry for about 40 years. He specializes in leadership development, coaching and counselling, quality assurance, systems and processes, corporate governance, and other related areas. He is dedicated to best practices and adherence to standards and has been a leading consultant in providing IT and Management Solutions in several sectors. He is a Metallurgical Engineer from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He and his wife Nalini live in Delhi.
DR. SUJAI SUNEETHA
Dr. Sujai Suneetha graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1980 from Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal. He pursued his post Graduate Degree in Pathology (DCP) in 1984 from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. He started his medical career in Leprosy work in 1984 as Research Medical Officer at Dhoolpet Leprosy Research Center, Hyderabad and subsequently at Vellore for almost 18 years in Leprosy Medical Care and Research. During this time he completed his PhD in Leprosy from CMC, Vellore in 1997. Dr. Sujai has about 35 Research Publications in National & International Journals and has contributed chapters in medical textbooks. In the year 2004 Dr. Sujai expanded from Leprosy to HIV/AIDS care. Along with his wife they started Nireekshana, currently Dr. Sujai heads the Training and Research wing. Dr Sujai is a lifetime awardee from the Governor of Andra Pradesh for his excellent work in Leprosy.
DR.LAVANYA SUNEETHA
Dr. Lavanya is a Scientist from Osmania University, Hyderabad. She has a Doctorate Degree in Biochemistry from Institute of Genetics & Hospital for Genetic Diseases and has been working on three diseases Leprosy, TB and HIV/AIDS respectively over the last two decades. She is a recipient of the young scientist award in Human Genetics Society in India, 1988. Dr. Lavanya has about 24 Research Publications in National and International Journals. Dr Lavanya currently is the Executive Director for Nireekshana ACET, India. She is married to Dr. Sujai for 28 years and they have 3 daughters- Supriya, Vishaka and Joha.
TILAK S. CHAUHAN
A life long Leprosy worker. Mr Tilak holds a Diploma in Physical Therapy from CMC and a Management certificate from Loyala Institute of Management Chennai and a certificate Project Management, Planning, implementation and evaluation from Industrial Society London. He has worked as paramedical and Field Officer in Danish Save the Children Leprosy Projects in Andra Pradesh and Odisha. He was the Field Administrative Supervisor in TB Sanatorium Madanapalle. Later he took over as the Chief Executive of Lepra India and supervised all the Projects in India for over 500 staff members..He continued working as Asia Representative for TB Alert UK in Hyderabad. Over the years he has participated in several Health Policy formulation Seminars conducted by Government of India, WHO and World Bank. He was one of the founding members of National Consortium of prominent NGOs to fight TB in India.
RANI CHAUHAN
A trained Nurse with specialization in Paediatrics from from Christian Medical College Vellore. She chose to work in Leprosy field and render services to patients with ulcers and reactions. She then moved to work in TB Sanatorium at Arogyavaram Madanapalle. Later she joined her training Hospital (Christian Medical Centre Pithapuram) as the supervising nurse. She later quit her job to help in basic medical and development in Urban slums and with the organisation Community Development and Welfare Association, whose focus is mainly on providing health awareness, skill training, alternate nutrition to children under 5 years of age basic health care.
JAMES KELLA
Member of the Board of Directors of Nireekshana
Was earlier the Chairman for several years on the same. Currently on the board of Hindustan Bible Institute and was on the board of Operation Blessing India and CBN Multimedia P Ltd till 2013/14. Back office for Dr. Ramesh Richard of Dallas. Provided Christian counseling and primary goal is to do provide counsel via internet mainly in spiritual and family matters Worked with churches and other para church organisations in AP to reach the unreached child; as One Hope partner Worked with Indian Bank for 27 years and retired as Vice President in 2001.
